BCB director resigned

Bangladesh Cricket Board has started investigation into the allegations of corruption against its director Mokhleshur Rahman. These allegations are related to the current season of Bangladesh Premier League, which have come to light on the basis of an investigation report. Let us tell you, BCB Director Mokhleshur Rahman had joined the board after the elections on 6 October 2025, but he has now resigned from the post of Chairman of the Audit Committee. After the allegations came to light, BCB’s Integrity Unit has started the investigation, which is headed by former ICC Integrity Unit head Alex Marshall.

Allegations of corruption have been leveled against Mokhleshur Rahman by Bangladeshi journalist Riyasad Azim. Questions were raised in an investigation report he posted on his official Facebook page on Thursday. The report alleges corruption in this season of the BPL, although the exact nature of the allegations such as match-fixing or financial irregularities has not been detailed. Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, a BCB spokesperson confirmed the investigation and Rahman’s removal from the post.

The ruckus is not stopping in Bangladesh

This incident has come at a difficult time for BCB. A few days ago, the board had removed Nazmul Islam from all responsibilities including the post of Finance Committee Chairman. Nazmul Islam’s controversial statements hurt the players so much that they threatened to boycott all cricket activities including the Bangladesh Premier League, after which BCB bowed to the pressure of the players and took major action.
