According to the victim’s family, a midwife scared them by saying that the minor girl was carrying a ‘jinn’s child’. The midwife claimed that only Santoshi alias Bhairon Baba could cure this alleged disease. Due to fear and superstition, the family did not consider it necessary to get examined by a doctor and directly contacted a Tantrik.
In the name of puja, the Tantrik called the family to Bhairon Temple in Amarpura, Agra. The girl’s father, a 16-year-old minor, her 20-year-old brother and 19-year-old cousin arrived here. It is alleged that during the puja, the Tantrik, his wife and a woman living in the neighborhood together further frightened the family. They were told that the girl was six months pregnant and that her womb was that of a jinn, due to which her life was in danger.
