This theft incident took place in house-E-8/11 of Deputy Collector Alka Singh Wamankar, resident of Bhopal. Where thieves stole goods worth Rs 11 lakh. This includes 10 tola gold jewellery, silver jewelery worth about Rs 40 thousand. Many branded watches are also included. Alka Singh is currently posted as Deputy Collector in the Revenue Commissioner’s office.

TI Sanjeev Choukse of Habibganj police station, who is investigating the case, said that the accused have committed the theft by taking advantage of the deserted house. Police say that Deputy Collector Alka Singh lives in a government residence in Char Imli. She had gone to Kerala 15 days ago for her husband’s treatment. When she returned home, she found the gate lock broken. When I went inside I saw that gold and silver jewelery worth lakhs of rupees was missing. Let us tell you that the thieves did racking first. It is said that there were no guards at the time this incident took place. TI said that the footage of CCTV cameras installed around the incident site is being scrutinized.
