Prime Minister Modi has reached the city of Tianjin in China, where he will take part in the SCO’s annual conference. Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping will have an important meeting on Sunday. Along with India and China, the whole world is eyeing this meeting. The conference will be held on 31 August and 1 September. Prime Minister Modi last visited China in June 2018. In such a situation, this meeting after seven years can prove to be a new direction of India-China relations.

Two -day SCO conference will start from today

Let me tell you that in 2020, there was a clash between the soldiers of India and China in the Galwan Valley of Eastern Ladakh, causing tension in the relationship between the two countries. Now both countries are trying to reduce that tension. In this meeting, important issues such as maintaining peace on the border, increasing trade and resumption of direct flights between India and China may be discussed. Chinese President Xi Jinping has come to India in October 2019, but after the June 2020 Galwan clashes, the relationship between the two countries was soured. Recently, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang E also visited India to improve it.

Prime Minister Modi also spoke to Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky before meeting Russia’s President Putin. Modi told Jailensky that India supports all efforts to end war in Ukraine. Jailonsky said that the war should end with the immediate ceasefire. After this conversation, Modi wrote in the tweet that the two leaders discussed the struggle, its humanitarian aspect and efforts to restore peace and stability, and India supports all efforts in this direction.
