India moves forward, America slipped down
This year, India has made significant improvements in the world’s passport rankings, in which it has come up eight places to number 77. Saudi Arabia has also moved forward, four new places have been added to its list and it has reached 54th position. Meanwhile, tourism giants like America and Britain have slipped down. Britain now ranks sixth with access to 186 places, while the US ranks 10th with 182 destinations, the lowest place since the Henley Passport Index started.
Afghanistan remained at the bottom
In this list, Afghanistan’s passport has been kept at the bottom. Its citizens are allowed to have visa-free entry into only 25 countries. At the same time, the other countries of Asia, Japan and South Korea, are jointly second, where the passport has access to 190 destinations without a pre -visa. Europe is also not behind. Seven European Union countries, including Germany, France and Spain, are third with 189 destinations. Meanwhile, New Zealand is the only non-European country in the top five outside Asia.
According to the report, in the last decade, there have been significant changes in the strength of global passports and more than 80 countries have climbed at least 10 places in the rankings. UAE has jumped 34 places to get eighth position, where it has got a visa-free access to 186 countries. China has also reached 60th position with this lead, which is due to great expansion in visa-free entry, where earlier there were only 20 countries, now this number has increased to 75. Recently all the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has joined many countries in the country and South America, which shows China’s growing efforts to attract global travelers.
