In the Ikshvaku dynasty, a brave man was born whose stories of bravery and valor are still immortal. He was the ancestor of Lord Shri Ram and so mightly that he had conquered the three worlds in a single day.
He defeated Ravana in the battlefield and showed courage to challenge even Devraj Indra. However, Indra killed him by deceit to save his power. The name of this great warrior was Mandhata. Let’s know the important things related to his life.
Mandhata was born from Yuvanashv
The story of Mandhata is described in Mahabharata, Bhagwat Purana and Valmiki Ramayana. His birth story is very amazing. Instead of his mother, he was born from the womb of Yuvanashva, the father of the father, Ikshvaku dynasty. Yuvanashva was a religious and mighty king. He performed thousands of Ashwamedha Yagyas, donated to Brahmins and performed many best yagyas. But child happiness was away from them. Even after many tenacity and fast, he handed over to the state ministers and took the path of penance in the forest.
Consumption of proven water and amazing phenomenon
Maharishi Chyavan had prepared a proven water in a urn, knowing the children of Yuvanashv, which the queen had to drink. But one day Yuvanishw, distraught with thirst in the forest, drank the same water. Maharishi told that now destiny has changed – this child will be born from his womb.
Hundreds of years later, a stunning child was born from the left womb of Yuvanishv. The gods visited him and Indra placed his finger in his mouth and said, “Mama, ie,” that is “it will drink me.” This is why his name was Mandhata. At birth, he was extraordinary fast and rich in force. He got knowledge of archery, divine weapons and Vedas. He was equipped with impervious armor, Azagava bow and special arrows.
Master of the three worlds
King Mandhata established his unstoppable empire on earth. He was devout, despite all the gems, opulence and power, he was religious. It was his main duty to protect donations, sacrifices and subjects. His influence was so widespread that he had obtained half of Indra’s throne. At one time when there was no rain for 12 years, Mandhata forced the clouds to rain with her tenacity and force.
War from Ravana
According to the Ramayana, Mandhata once defeated Ravana’s huge army alone. Ravana drove Rudra scripture, Gandharvastra and eventually to Pashupatastra, but Mandhata faced him with his divine weapons. The war became so fierce that Galav and Pulastya Rishi had to come and stop the war.
Indra’s move and heroism
When Mandhata subjected the entire earth, her next goal was Devalok. Indra was worried about knowing this. He said with deceit, “First establish your entire power on earth, then move towards heaven.” Indra told him that Lavanasura, the son of Madhu Daitya, does not obey him. Mandhata immediately left for war.
Lavanasura had a infinite colic of Shiva. In the war, Mandhata injured her, but eventually Lavanasura used Amogha Shul, causing Mandhata and her army to be consumed. Thus Indra succeeded in saving his power, but the might of the mandhata became immortal.
