Vande Bharat Sleeper Train
Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: Vande Bharat Train, this name has become synonymous with speed and convenience in the history of Indian Railways. It has truly redefined the way of traveling in the country. Some time ago, the Railway Ministry had announced the introduction of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train. This announcement was so big that the eyes of passengers across the country were fixed on it.
Initially it was expected that the country would get its first sleeper Vande Bharat train last month i.e. in October 2025. The dream of taking passengers on long distance routes to their destination without getting tired or sleeping was about to come true. But due to some important technical and design deficiencies, this train could not hit the tracks in October. So the question is, now when will this special train run?
No compromise on passenger convenience
The Railway Ministry says that the safety and convenience of passengers is its biggest priority. He says that even if it takes some time for the train to start, no compromise will be made. Recently, the Railway Board said in a letter that some shortcomings have been found in the trains which need to be rectified immediately. These include problems related to furnishing and quality of work. For example, some berths were found to have sharp corners that could cause injury to passengers. The design of the handle of the window curtains was also not convenient. Additionally, there were spaces between the berth connectors where dust accumulation made cleaning difficult. The board has clearly said that until all these flaws are removed, the train will not be allowed to run.
Without these things the train will not come on track
Railways is continuously taking strict steps to make Vande Bharat Sleeper the safest train in the country. The ministry has made it clear that no train will run on the tracks without meeting the necessary safety standards. It will be mandatory to install state-of-the-art Kavach 4.0 security system in the train. All fire safety rules will be strictly followed and the braking system will be regularly checked. Better communication system will also be ensured between the driver, guard and station master. For the convenience of the passengers, the temperature inside the train will be controlled in such a way that the atmosphere remains comfortable even after the doors are opened repeatedly. In case of emergency, trained technical staff will be present on every route, so that if necessary, train coaches can be separated in just 15 minutes.
RDSO report has arrived
The big news regarding Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is that RDSO has submitted its safety trial report to the Ministry on 1 September 2025. Now the final approval from the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (CCRS) is awaited. As soon as all the technical and design related deficiencies are completely resolved and the green signal is received from CCRS, the train will be started for the passengers. The ministry has not decided the date, but according to media reports, this high-speed sleeper train can hit the tracks in early December 2025.
The route has not been decided yet
The route of the train has not been decided yet, but Railways has instructed all the zones to start preparations for its maintenance. For the safety of passengers, an announcement will be made over the PA system before departure of the train for non-passengers to disembark and safety messages will be broadcast continuously in three languages – Hindi, English and local language – during the journey. This electric train with a speed of 180 km per hour will make long distance travel more comfortable. The interior of its first class cabin resembles a five star hotel, with reading lights, charging points and luxurious seats to give a premium experience to the passengers.
