What is ‘The Vvaan’ About?
Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, The Vvaan revolves around Rishi (Sidharth Malhotra), a Mumbai-based man who returns to his ancestral village Devanchal with his wife Mamta (Tamannaah Bhatia) over land-related dispute. However, what begins as a family issue soon takes him into a world of ancient beliefs, mysterious legends and supernatural forces. Devanchal has an ancient history. It is home to a forest associated with the Van Devi, around whom several stories and beliefs have been passed down through generations of believers.
The forest is sacred and there is a rule that no one should enter it after sunset. However, Rishi finds himself drawn towards the forbidden forest, and this is where the film begins to reveal its supernatural side .

Her role is not merely restricted to being the protagonist’s wife and gets enough space to contribute to the emotional side of the story. The supporting cast adds further depth. Television’s favourite Shweta Tiwari adds a distinct energy and attitude to the film, while another TV favourite, Anup Soni, plays his part with conviction. Comedian Suniel Grover shines in a layered character that comes with its share of surprises. The actor handles the contrasts effectively.
The writing by Anandeshwar Dwivedi and Arunabh Kumar adds value to The Vvaan not just in terms of the story but also the characters, who have distinct personalities.
