Asha ji was born on 8 September 1933 in Sangli, Mumbai. The journey of music was full of challenges for him since childhood. At the age of just 9, he lost his father, so he started singing at a young age to support his family. The real storm came in her life when at the age of 16, she went against her family and ran away and married Lata Mangeshkar’s secretary Ganpatrao Bhosle. Lata Didi was so angry with this decision that she broke relations with her real sister. After marriage, she faced domestic violence and was so broken that she started having thoughts of suicide.
