The leaders were pressurized that if the civil war is to be stopped, then the country would have to divide into two parts. According to the 1941 census, there were about 29 crore Hindus and 4 crore Muslims in India, people of other religions. Nevertheless, a large terrain was cut to Pakistan in the name of religion. Exodus and desolate houses after Indo-Pak partition
More than 1.4 crore people became homeless after partition. 72 lakh Hindus and Sikhs came to India from Pakistan and about the same number of Muslims from India went to Pakistan. Millions of people started crossing trains and foot borders. No one had any option but to leave the house. Many families left all the land, shop, farm, house. Trains who came to India from Pakistan would often have corpses. For those whose loved ones were in those trains, he would have become the last journey.

During partition, it is estimated that 10 to 2 million people were killed. Riots erupted everywhere. Punjab, Bengal, Sindh, Kashmir, Hyderabad, shed the blood of humanity everywhere. More than 80,000 women were kidnapped, raped or murdered. Many women were forced to change religion and marry in Pakistan. Sindhi and Punjabi Hindus lost their entire state. Sindhi language and culture gradually began to disappear. The Sindhi Muslims left in Pakistan also adopted Urdu. Soon after partition, the tribal attackers on Kashmir broke. Looting and slaughter took place. Kashmiri Pandits had to leave their homes and migrate towards Jammu.

The biggest tragedy of partition of India and Pakistan came to women. Thousands of women and girls were abducted, they were tortured. Many got separated from their family and could never return.
