Dalit Man Murdered Love Marriage: The son-in-law, who came to her in-laws for the first time after a love marriage in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, was beaten to death by his wife’s family. The police have arrested three people and the search for the remaining accused is going on.
Gwalior Dalit Man Murder: A case of murder of son -in -law, who came to her in -laws’ house for the first time after love marriage in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, has come to light. The girl’s family beat up the young man. It was the young man’s fault to marry against the family’s will. There is an atmosphere of panic in the village due to this honor killing and people are afraid of getting out of their homes. Two accused have been arrested in this case and an FIR has been registered against a total of 12 people.
This incident is from Harsi village of Bhitarwar police station area of Gwalior district of Madhya Pradesh. The deceased youth is named Om Prakash Batham. He had a love marriage to Shivani Jha, a upper caste girl from his own village a year ago. After marriage, Om Prakash and Shivani started living in Dabra. Om Prakash and Shivani did not come to the village after marriage.
A year after the wedding, Om Prakash came to the village on 19 August. Shivani’s family erupted as soon as he came to know about this. Shivani’s father Dwarka alias Bunty Jha, brother Raju Jha, mother Uma Jha and local resident Sandeep Sharma together attacked Om Prakash with sticks. The seriously injured Om Prakash was admitted to Jayarogya Hospital in Gwalior. Om Prakash died six days later during treatment.
Shivani Jha told that my father, brother and mother beat my husband to death with sticks. My husband was murdered in front of my eyes. Strict action should be taken against them by arresting my husband’s killers. The deceased Om Prakash belonged to the Dalit community. For this reason, Shivani’s family members were against this love marriage.
Om Prakash’s mother said that my son’s killers should be hanged. Shivani and my son married mutual consent. My son was killed due to love and getting married. The police have registered a case and arrested Dwarka, Uma and Raju. The investigation has been started by registering an FIR on the complaint of the deceased’s wife Shivani. Senior police officer Ajay Singh said that three people have been arrested and the search for the remaining accused is going on.
