In the final of UP T20 League 2025, Kashi Rudras won the second title by defeating Meerut Mavarerix. CM Yogi Adityanath started the match by bouncing the toss at Ekana Stadium and said that youth will get a better platform by building stadium in every village and district.

UP T20 League 2025: The enthusiasm was at its peak on Saturday night at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium. The occasion was the final of the Uttar Pradesh Premier T20 League, where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath started the match by playing the hour and bouncing the toss coin. When CM Yogi reached the stadium filled with the audience, the entire ground resonated with the slogans of “Yogi-Yogi”.

Kashi Rudras won the second title

In the final, Meerut Maverix won the toss and decided to bat first, but the beginning was staggering. Swastik Chikara was dismissed for zero on the first ball, captain Madhav Kaushik was able to score only 6 runs. Despite the innings of Prashant Chaudhary (37), the team was reduced to 144 runs. In response, the opening pair of Kashi Rudras kept the Meerut bowlers completely under pressure. Captain Karan Sharma scored 65 runs in 31 balls, while Abhishek Goswami returned unbeaten after scoring 61*. Kashi won his second title by achieving the target in the 16th over.

CM Yogi’s message: UP will give new height to sports

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met the players of both teams before the final match, took photographs with the trophy and also encouraged the employees who were preparing for the ground. He said that UP T20 League is a better platform for youth and the government is working with full commitment to give new height to sports in the state. CM Yogi urged the BCCI to give at least two teams to Uttar Pradesh with a population of 25 crores, so that local players can get more opportunities.

Stadium being built from every village to district

CM said that under the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the International Cricket Stadium being built in Varanasi will be ready by the end of this year, whose 70% of the work has been completed. Stadiums are also under construction in Ayodhya and Gorakhpur. A stadium of international standards is being built with Sports University in Meerut. He said that the work of building a sports ground in every village, mini stadium in every development block and stadium in every district is going on fast. Also, a plan to guide the new generation by appointing old players as coaches is also applicable.

Many dignitaries including BCCI Vice President and Rajya Sabha MP Rajiv Shukla, UPCA chairman, Dr. DM Chauhan, Cabinet Minister Swatantra Dev Singh were present at the closing ceremony.
