The right way to make long moong sprouts
Select moong
First of all choose moong dal of good quality. Always take fresh and clean green moong. The grains should be completed. Separate broken or bad grains.
Soak overnight
Wash the moong thoroughly and soak it in water overnight. By morning, the grains will become soft.
Sprouting process
If you want a normal sprout, tie the soaked moong in a light wet muslin cloth. The next day small sprouts will come out. But if you want long sprouts, it will take some time and hard work.
Long sprouts method
- Separate the soaked moong from the water and put it in a clean muslin cloth and keep it in a big pot.
- Cover the moong with the same cloth and put a lid on the vessel and keep the black cloth on the top.
- Place the pot in a place where dark and light moisture remains.
- Every morning and evening wash the moong in a cloth and wash it again and keep it in the dark again.
- Repeat this process for 4 days. On the 5th day you will see that long sprouts have come out of moong and the grains are almost empty.
- Storage and eating ways
- Wash the prepared sprouts thoroughly and fill it in the airtight container and keep it in the fridge.
- They can be eaten as a salad, by frying lightly or involving them in any healthy recipe.
