According to a report by Al Jazeera, America spent 8 trillion dollars to attack 10 countries in the 21st century. These military actions directly and indirectly resulted in the deaths of about 47 lakh people and millions of people became refugees.
New York: The 21st century began after the breakup of the Soviet Union. In these 25 years, America spent trillions of dollars like water to attack 10 countries. International media Al Jazeera has released a long list, which mentions attacks on Iran from 2001 to 2026. The report states that these attacks took place during the tenure of four different US presidents.
The countries targeted by America include Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Pakistan, Somalia, Libya, Syria, Venezuela, Nigeria and Iran. These included everything from drone attacks to major military offensives. According to a study by Brown University’s ‘Watson Institute’, 9,40,000 people were killed in direct attacks in these wars. But if we also include the deaths due to starvation, disease and lack of treatment after the attacks, then this figure reaches between 45 lakh to 47 lakh.
America spent about 5.8 trillion dollars on these wars in the last 25 years. Apart from this, it is estimated that another 2.2 trillion dollars will be spent on the treatment and other facilities of the soldiers involved in these wars. That means the total expenditure will be 8 trillion dollars. This report comes at a time when the US and Israel’s joint attacks on Iran in early 2026 have again increased the risk of a major war in West Asia. According to the report, these American actions taken in the name of ending terrorism created serious political instability in many countries, forcing millions of people to become refugees in their own country.
