Finland President Alexander Stub
Finland President Alexander Stub has described India as an emerging great force and said that India should not look as a force like Russia or China. He has asked Western countries to strengthen their relations with India. Stub said this in the Helsinki Security Forum 2025, where he said that India’s role is very important in international security and politics.
Stub said, India is a different and special force, which chooses its own way. We should not see it like traditional forces like China or Russia. He said that India is making a huge contribution in global peace and hence Western countries should cooperate more with Delhi.
India’s role important in Ukraine War

Stub told that he has talked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the status of Ukraine and admitted that India has special political and strategic interests in this matter.
He said that the peace process should begin immediately with a ceasefire, only then the date of the official meeting should be set between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonski. Stub also said that economic sanctions should be continued on Russia, while Ukraine should be given military help so that the situation can be controlled.
Stub is close to Trump

In March, the two met at the Mar-e-Lago resort in Florida playing golf for seven hours, which made their friendship stronger. Experts believe that Stub is the only leader among the small leaders of Europe who has an impact on Trump. He has a good reach in the political world of America, which usually gets only the leaders of big countries.
It is important for Western countries to maintain good relations with India
Stub had clearly stated last month that America and other Western countries would have to show more respect and cooperation in their diplomatic relations with India. He had said, if the western countries do not do so, then they can lose in this strategic game. He also referred to the conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in Tianjin, China, including Prime Minister Modi. Stub said that this meeting reminds Western countries how important the balance of global power is and India’s role in it cannot be ignored.
