T20 World Cup 2026: The countdown for ICC T20 World Cup 2026 has started. This tournament is going to start from 7th February, for which many teams have announced their squads, which also includes the name of Afghanistan cricket team. But before this tournament, Afghanistan has suffered a big setback. A star player of Afghanistan has been ruled out of T20 World Cup 2026 due to injury. The replacement of this player can be announced soon.

Afghanistan cricket team’s fast bowler Naveen Ul Haq has once again been injured. Due to which he has been ruled out of the three-match T20I series against West Indies starting next week and the T20 World Cup 2026. According to the report, Naveen will undergo surgery at the end of this month. However, not much information has been revealed on Naveen’s injury. Let us tell you, Naveen Ul Haq last played for Afghanistan in December 2024. Then he was out of Asia Cup 2025 also due to shoulder injury.
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has not yet announced any new player in his place. However, the players in reserve for the T20 World Cup include mystery spinner Ghazanfar, batsman Ijaz Ahmedzai and fast bowler Zia ur Rehman Sharifi, any one of them can be included in the main team. Let us tell you, Afghanistan has been placed in Group D for the T20 World Cup 2026, where they will face the teams of New Zealand, South Africa, UAE and Canada. The team will play its first match against New Zealand on 8 February in Chennai.
