“The Paradise” continues to remain the first choice for Telugu audiences even in its second weekend. Despite multiple Telugu films arriving in theaters yesterday, none managed to attract audiences to the same extent as Nani’s film.
“The Paradise” is trending at approximately Rs 2 crore in the Telugu states on its tenth day. The film has faced considerable trolling and negative talk, but its strong performance in Nizam is helping it stay afloat.
Among yesterday’s releases, Sundeep Kishan’s “Sigma” has attracted attention as it marks the directorial debut of Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay. The film also carries interest in both Telugu and Tamil markets, with Sundeep Kishan having a presence in both industries.
However, “Sigma” is estimated to have collected less than Rs 1.5 crore from its Telugu and Tamil versions combined on its second day.
The comparison itself highlights the difference in the current theatrical pull of the two films. “The Paradise” is collecting more on its tenth day than “Sigma” is managing on its second day.
Sundeep Kishan has been struggling to translate his presence into theatrical openings, and the early collections of “Sigma” once again raise questions about his ability to bring audiences to theaters purely on his name.
