Nani starrer “The Paradise” has posted a huge number in its first weekend, emerging as one of the biggest openings in Telugu cinema. Despite heavy negative talk and trolling on social media, the film managed to hold its ground at the box office.
The film witnessed a drop on its second day but quickly regained momentum and continued its strong run. “The Paradise” has grossed a whopping Rs 138 crore worldwide in its first four days.
The film premiered on September 23 in India and received largely negative reactions on social media, with reviews also being mixed to negative. Despite this, the film recorded the biggest opening day of Nani’s career.
“The Paradise” has collected around Rs 109 crore gross in India across Telugu, Hindi and other languages, while the overseas market contributed more than Rs 29 crore, taking the worldwide gross to Rs 138 crore.
The Nani and Kayadu Lohar starrer, directed by Srikanth Odela and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri, also grossed over $2 million in North America during its first weekend, marking another career-best for Nani.
With this, “The Paradise” has already surpassed the lifetime grosses of Nani’s previous films and emerged as the highest-grossing film of his career.
The film’s performance in the coming days will determine how far it can go. For now, “The Paradise” has managed to withstand the negative chatter online and maintain its box-office momentum.
