The company launched a “mobile horoscope” app on Palm handheld devices in 2001, brought astrology to the cloud in 2004, and launched ‘Bhrigoo.ai’, one of the country’s first AI astrology systems, in 2018—years before ChatGPT brought AI into the mainstream. Today, AstroSage AI lies in the ‘application layer’ of AI, in the same category as global companies like Perplexity, Cursor and OpenClaw, earlier ClawdBot. Its AI astrologers have answered over 25 crore questions, and have higher user ratings (4.6) than human astrologers (4.3 rating) on the same platform. Additionally, it supports live voice calls in every major Indian language, including dialects like Bhojpuri and Brajbhasha. It was also the first company to bring character AI style avatars in the Indian market.
How does AI app work?
What makes AstroSage AI structurally different is its economics. Traditional astrology platforms are service marketplaces operating at 45-55% margins. AstroSage AI’s in-house AI astrologers provide consultations at around 90% margins, which takes it closer to a SaaS company rather than a services business. With voice AI already in production and autonomous AI astrologers in development—which will be able to manage their own phone numbers, emails, social media accounts, and independently interact with users across multiple platforms—the company moves into the same field of autonomous agents that has made OpenClaw the biggest sensation in global AI this year.
