Ather Energy has introduced the ‘Infinite Cruise’ feature for the 450X scooter via OTA update. Designed for urban riding, this system works at 10-90 km/h. It is not deactivated when the brakes are applied, but gets adjusted to the new speed.
AThur Energy has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update for its electric scooters. This update has brought Infinite Cruise feature in Ather 450X. This feature will be available as standard. Riders will be informed about the update on the dashboard of the scooter. The company has also confirmed that over 44,000 existing Ather 450X owners who purchased the scooter after January 1, 2025, will also get Infinite Cruise if their scooter has the required hardware support.
Infinite Cruise was first introduced in the Ather Apex 450 in August 2025. Now it has been added to 450X as well. Unlike traditional cruise control systems that are specifically designed for highway riding, Infinite Cruise is designed for urban conditions. It works at speeds of 10 km/h to 90 km/h. Once activated, the system remains active even when the rider applies brakes or accelerates.
Instead of turning off, it adjusts itself to the new speed, whereas traditional cruise control requires you to reactivate it after braking or accelerating. This feature integrates multiple functions, including City Cruise, which adjusts to varying traffic speeds, Hill Control, which uses regenerative braking to maintain a consistent speed on slopes, and Crawl Control, which ensures stable riding at low speeds on rough surfaces.
Together with the scooter’s traction control system, these functions help the scooter maintain its grip on the road. Ather has designed this feature for congested city roads, where the average speed is often less than 30 km/h. This system reduces rider fatigue by eliminating the need for frequent throttle (accelerator) adjustments. It also includes a multi-mode traction control system with rain, road and rally modes. The price of Ather 450X starts at Rs 1,47,998.
