There are many secrets hidden in the high hills of the Himalayas. Gyanganj Monastery is a small place in the Himalayas which is also known as Shangri-La, Shambhala and Siddhaashram. It is said that everyone’s fate is decided from here only. It is also said that the secret of becoming immortal is hidden here. No one knows its exact location in the Himalayas.
It is said that there are 7 sages in Gyan Ganj who have met Mahadev. His age is more than 500 years. In this monastery the Mahatma who stops time remains engrossed in penance. Surprisingly it is not visible even in satellite. This place does not belong to any particular religion or culture.
Neither is it connected to East or West. This place has been mentioned in author James Hilton’s book ‘Lost Horizon, about the lost kingdom of Shangri-La’. There is also reference to Gyanganj in Valmiki’s Ramayana and Mahabharata. In these it has been called Siddhaashram. Buddhists believe that Lord Buddha learned about Kalachakra in his last days.
One of the people to whom he gave this knowledge was King Suchandra. When they came to their kingdom with this knowledge, from then on that place came to be known as Shambhala in Tibet. It means ‘source of happiness’. It is said that this place is the center of spiritual power. Buddhists reach here in some way or the other, but not everyone clearly understands the path here.
This place is built in such a way that even the mapping systems of modern technology are not able to find it. Gyanganj Monastery is 16 km away from the Western Region of Tibet in the Himalayas. This ancient ashram was renovated by Swami Gyananand Paramahamsa in 1225 AD.
