The mortal remains of Wing Commander Namansh Syal, who was martyred in the crash of LCA Tejas aircraft during the Dubai Air Show 2025, was taken to his native village Patialkar on Sunday. Crowd gathered in the village, every face was immersed in grief.

As soon as the military vehicle entered the village, the entire Patialkar gathered to bid last farewell to the martyr. Sandeep Kumar, a resident of the village, said, “Namansh was not only the son of our village, but our younger brother. He had come to the village only a few months ago. We all are at a loss for words.”

Pankaj Chadha, who studied with him at Sainik School Sujanpur Tihra, said, “We have lost one of our gems. He was the pride of the school. His achievements were a pride for all of us. Today we are going to pay his last respects with a heavy heart.”

Wing Commander Syal’s uncle Madan Lal said, “The entire village is in mourning. Namansh was bright, disciplined and very promising since childhood. He never left the first position in studies. Today the country has lost an extraordinary son.”

His mortal remains were brought to Sulur Air Base, Coimbatore this morning. The Emirati Defense Force in Dubai gave him a guard of honour, which was a symbol of his courage and service. After this he was brought to India by special plane.
