Interesting history of temple

There is a belief about this temple that this temple was discovered by a cow. About 750 years ago there was a cow which used to give milk on a pile of mud every day. People were surprised to know why this cow always gives his milk here. Due to this curiosity of the people, he worked to dig the land and he found a Shivling there which is known today as Mankameshwar Mahadev.

Inscription found from the temple

A few years after the establishment of the temple, when the temple was being renovated, an inscription was found here, which has been installed near the temple. It is believed that in which language this inscription is not known till date.

Mata Parvati’s Taposthali

This temple is seen as the taposthali of Mata Parvati. It is believed that at this place, Mata Parvati did penance to get Shiva and found Shiva to see Shiva.

12 months flows in the tank of the temple

There is a Gaurikund in this temple which has a waterfall. This waterfall has 12 months of water. In this pool, people take a bath and believe that every wish sought there fulfills Mata Gauri and Lord Shiva.

A unique crown climbed in the temple

People here say that the crown in the temple was offered by the Gwalior State. Years ago, Gwalior State offered three crowns which are established in Mahakaleshwar, Ujjain, one in Omkareshwar and one in Mankameshwar. There are many beliefs and stories of people associated with this temple. This is the reason that this old temple has remained the center of people’s faith even today.
