The Hundred 2026: Pakistan players ‘banned’ from 4 teams, big decision taken

Now Pakistan players will have to bear the brunt of bad relations with India in The Hundred also. The owners of four teams in The Hundred are Indians and they have decided not to buy Pakistani players. The owners of Manchester Super Giants, MI London, Southern Brave and Sunrisers Leeds are Indians and Pakistani players will no longer be seen in these teams. Let us tell you that the auction of The Hundred will take place for 2 days. Bidding will be held on female players on March 11 and male players on March 12. This auction will be held in London. According to BBC report, Pakistani cricketers have been included among about 1,000 cricketers from 18 countries, but four teams are not going to bid for them.

India-Pakistan relations are the reason

Relations between Pakistan and India are bad. In the last one year, a war-like situation arose between the two countries. That’s why no IPL franchise includes Pakistani cricketers in their team. Not only in IPL but also in other cricket leagues like SA20, CPL, Indian owners do not select Pakistani players in their team. Even in the ILT20, only the American-owned Desert Vipers select players from Pakistan.

Decision taken before Hundred 2026 auction!

According to the BBC report, a senior ECB official has informally told a player agent that the four franchises associated with IPL will not try to include Pakistani cricketers.
Before the sale of The Hundred, ECB acting chairman Richard Gould was asked whether Pakistani players would be allowed to play in the league following Indian investment. On this he had assured that there will be no discrimination against the players on the basis of country but at present this does not seem to be happening. Players like Mohammad Aamir, Imad Wasim, Shaheen Afridi, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf have played in Men’s Hundred. Now it will be interesting to see what happens to these players.
