The biggest question before the police is whose hand the bullet was in and under what circumstances it was fired. According to sources, Priya fell on the ground after being shot. Ashish panicked and allegedly tried to hide the evidence. Later, when he realized that Priya was breathing, he wrapped her in a sheet and took her to the hospital.
On reaching the hospital, Ashish told the doctors that the girl was injured in a road accident. When the matter seemed suspicious, he admitted Priya as his wife and also used the health insurance card. The hospital management informed the police. After the post mortem report confirmed death due to gunshot, the police registered a case on the complaint of the deceased’s brother and arrested Ashish and sent him to judicial custody.
After the incident, the security arrangements of the society and the role of CCTV cameras are also under investigation. Police are trying to find out whether anyone else was present in the flat at the time of the incident. The entire incident is being reconstructed on the basis of CCTV footage, mobile data and forensic report.
