A boy from Mangalaghat in Puri district of Odisha died after being hit by a speeding train while making an Instagram reel near Janakdeipur railway station. According to reports, the boy had gone to Dakshinakali temple with his mother for darshan. The accident happened when he was returning home and stopped near the railway track.
Boy came very close to railway line to shoot video
According to eyewitnesses, the boy stood very close to the railway line to record a short video on his mobile. He saw the train coming from a distance and started posing for the video. Meanwhile, he died on the spot when he was hit by a train traveling at extremely high speed. Immediately after the incident, railway employees and local residents reached the spot. On receiving information, GRP officials came and recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.

Initial investigation revealed that the accident occurred due to negligence on the part of the boy while trying to make a video for social media. Officials said no foul play was suspected and the boy’s death was completely accidental. Police officials warned against making videos around the railway line and called it life-threatening. A senior GRP officer said, the youth have to understand that it is not right to risk their lives for a few seconds of video. Railway track is not a place of entertainment.
