The biggest operation of the IT department regarding fraud in income tax, Red E at 200 places simultaneously

The Income Tax Department and its red are very much discussed nowadays. By the way, this discussion is due to Ajay Devgan’s film Red-2. But what we are going to discuss today is not of reel story but of real life. The Income Tax Department has launched the biggest search operation against tax evaders in the name of political donors, tuition fees and medical expenses. The department has raided 200 different places in the country.

According to the information, the Income Tax Department started a large -scale search operation across the country on Monday, in which people and institutions accused of helping fake tax deduction were targeted. At present, raids are going on on campus related to more than 200 people, who allegedly helped taxpayers to claim fake deductions in various items including political donations, tuition fees and medical expenses.

What is the allegation?

This campaign mainly focuses on the deductions claimed under Section 80GGC, which helps reduce the donations given to registered political parties with taxable income. Investigators allege that many middlemen are arranging fake donations-sometimes through registered or suspicious institutions-so that the taxpayers can help reduce their tax liability. Apart from political donations, raids are also targeted on networks who are accused of fake claim on tuition fees, medical reimbursement and other deductable expenses.

Why is strictness being done?

These search operations are part of a nationwide attempt to prevent widespread misuse of cuttings under Old Tax Performance. Officials said that many taxpayers are taking advantage of the facility of filing paper-free income tax returns to exaggerate their claim without adequate documents. The action took place after the recent NUDGE campaign of the department, in which taxpayers were already informed about the suspected or unproven deductions in their returns and were advised to voluntarily revise or file updated returns to avoid the fine.
