Revealing a big network of smuggling of codeine cough syrup, the Commissionerate Police has issued a lookout notice against four accused including the leader Shubham Jaiswal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000. The wanted accused include Akash Pathak, Divesh Jaiswal and Amit Jaiswal. SIT is continuously raiding to arrest these absconding accused under NDPS Act, financial fraud and other serious sections.

Shubham Jaiswal is the mastermind of this entire network.

According to the police, Shubham Jaiswal, the head of Ranchi-based firm Shaili Traders, is the mastermind of this entire network. A reward of Rs 50 thousand has also been declared against Shubham. Other wanted accused are Divesh Jaiswal, proprietor of DSA Pharma, Amit Jaiswal, resident of Kazipura Khurd, Sonia and Akash Pathak, resident of Siddh Mata Lane, Golghar.

Fake firms, bogus e-way bills and banking networks

Investigation has revealed that Shubham’s most trusted associate Akash Pathak used to handle banking related work, while Divesh and Amit were active in opening fake firms, generating bogus e-way bills and falsifying documents. Firms were opened in the name of the youth of the city and information about their bank accounts and registrations was kept with them. In return, the youth were given 40 to 50 thousand rupees every month.

Information also sought from the drug department

DCP Kashi Zone Gaurav Vanshwal said that a lookout circular has been issued against all four including Shubham Jaiswal. SIT is continuously conducting raids to arrest other accused associated with the network. Information is also being collected from the drug department regarding the people involved in buying and selling.

Interrogation of close relatives, major recovery revealed

SIT has put on the radar M/s Syndicate proprietor Manoj Yadav and his son Lakshya Yadav, resident of Ausanganj, Visheshwarganj, Rahul Yadav, resident of Suzabad, Ghanshyam and Ankush Singh of Khojwa. Cough syrup worth Rs 60 lakh was recovered from the warehouse of Manoj Yadav and Lakshya Yadav in Sujabad.

In the same sequence, Mahesh Singh, resident of Bhadwar, Rohania, carrying a reward of Rs 25,000, is also absconding. Police say that soon more names related to this smuggling network may come to light.
