The Bengal Files CBFC Cuts: Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s film ‘The Bengal Files’ is going to release on 5 September. The film has been given an A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, many scenes of the film have also been scissors. But the period with which the censor board has passed the film, has been included in Bollywood’s longest films and in this case it has overtaken the theatrical version of Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Animal’ and Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa 2’. However, there is a difference of just 1 minute between Animal and its runtime.
CBFC gave A certificate to ‘The Bengal Files’
According to the report of the Bollywood Hungama, the first CBFC inquiry committee did not pass the ‘The Bengal Files’, but sent it to the Revising Committee. The film was passed from here, but some changes were demanded. The RC asked the film’s makers to remove the derogatory words used against transgenders in it and add appropriate words to them. Similarly, pictures of prominent personalities used in the film were removed and other pictures were installed. The makers of the film submitted the necessary documents in the context of historical events. Apart from this, the consent letters of the parents of the children working in the film should also be handed over to the CBFC. Later, a disclaimer was also added to the voice over in large letters. After all the changes were made by the makers, CBFC gave the film an A certificate, which mentions its runtime. The film was passed with a period of 204.30 minutes. In other words, the film’s runtime was 2 hours 24 minutes 30 seconds.

Makers made 29 changes after passing ‘The Bengal Files’
It is written in this report that on 25 June 2025, CBFC gave the film certificate to the makers. About two months later, on August 26, the makers approached the CBFC and on their wish to make changes in 29 places in the film. One of its dialogues’ 100 years old were ‘an old women who have dementia’. A photo has been added to a phone scene. A phone video scene has been replaced. The dialogue “India will have to pay a huge compensation one day” has been shortened. The name of Gopal Mukhopadhyay has been removed from many places. Apart from this, a scene with vulture and child has been removed, an owl scene has been added. In many scenes, the makers have changed the text. The makers of the film have added two things. How long did ‘The Bengal files’ become after the new change?
Overall, the makers have removed 1 minute 42 seconds from the film and added 1 minute 44 seconds. Due to this, the total duration of the film has increased from 3 hours 40 minutes 30 seconds to 2 hours 40 minutes 32 seconds. ‘The Bengal Files’ has left ‘Animal’ behind the 1 -minute margin in the case of runtime. At the same time, ‘The Bengal files’ is 4 minutes long compared to the theater version of Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa 2’.
