‘That is a double standard’: Ex-Pakistan star blasts BCCI amid Champions Trophy chaos

Despite the PCB reportedly accepting hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy, the future of the tournament remains to hang in the balance as neither is there any confirmation yet about PCB accepting BCCI’s proposal, nor has the schedule for the tournament gotten announced despite it being less than 100 days away from the scheduled date in February 2025.

Amid all this chaos, former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal has slammed the BCCI for not sending their team to Pakistan for the tournament. He also urged PCB to take a strong stand and not send their team to India for future tournaments as well. Akmal added that BCCI were showing ‘double standards’ with their actions.

‘Pakistan will have to take a strong decision and stick to it. That will help Pakistan create a good image. On one hand, they don’t want to play us in Pakistan on political issues but on the other hand, they play us in their country and that is a double standard,’ Akmal said.

Recent reports have stated that India will be playing all of their Champions Trophy matches in Dubai. This will also include the marquee clash against Pakistan. Rest of the teams will be playing all their matches in Pakistan only.

Not only this, the Pakistan team will also reportedly not be travelling to India for the ICC tournaments that will be hosted in the country till 2031 and will also be playing all their matches in Dubai.
