New Delhi: A major accident occurred in the VVIP area in Patna on Sunday, February 15, near the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s residence. A speeding Thar crashed into a Patna police patrol vehicle.
The police vehicle was a Shakti Suraksha team, and the impact of the accident was so strong that Thar passed through the barricades and fell onto the opposite side of the road.
Police personnel inside the vehicle narrowly escaped from the accident, as they didn’t sustain serious injuries. The front portion of both vehicles was severely disfigured after the crash.
“The accident occurred due to the car driver’s negligence. He confirmed that both vehicles were damaged in the collision and that one police officer was injured. He added that the Thar was travelling at high speed at the time of the crash,” Ajit Kumar, DSP, Traffic, stated.
DSP Ajit confirmed that their department has been taking continuous action against speeding, and anyone found driving carelessly will have to face strict action. He also said that the matter has been taken to the traffic police station and the investigation is underway.
Four people have been detained by the officials in connection with the case for further questioning.
