Thai VietJet Air Adds Phuket–Mumbai Flights to Its India Network

Thailand’s popular low-cost carrier, Thai VietJet Air (VZ), is set to boost leisure travel between India and Thailand with a brand-new direct flight route connecting Phuket and Mumbai.

Starting August 2025, this move marks the airline’s second India-Thailand service, complementing its existing daily Mumbai-Bangkok flights and offering travellers a convenient, affordable gateway to Thailand’s famed beach destination.

This new connection arrives as demand for leisure travel between the two countries continues to surge, making it a timely addition to the bustling India-Thailand air corridor.

Why This Route Matters

This new service is Thai VietJet’s first direct connection to Phuket from India, skipping any layovers in Bangkok. It also makes Thai VietJet only the second airline offering direct Mumbai–Phuket flights, joining IndiGo in this highly competitive route.

With IndiGo currently dominating the India–Thailand corridor and Air India and Thai Airways offering services mainly to Bangkok, this new launch adds variety and competition, especially for budget travellers.
