New Delhi: On back of a fabulous century in the last Test match against India at the Lord’s, Joe Root has displaced fellow batter Harry Brook to reclaim the number one batting spot in latest rankings. Brook had toppled Root in the last week with superb innings in the Edgbaston Test and the seasoned player didn’t take much time in regaining his spot.
Flamboyant India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who produced a typical Test innings in the third Test match smashing a patient half-century has achieved his career-best Test ratings. With 409 points in his kitty, he displaced Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz to take the top position in the all-rounders list while in the batting and bowling charts, he is on the 34th and 15th position respectively.
Meanwhile Root, who has 888 rating points, apart from a hitting a century in the first innings also scored 40 runs in the second innings. This is the eighth time he has hit the number one spot in the Test rankings.
Jaiswal, Pant slip
Meanwhile for India, top batters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant have both slipped one position each to occupy the fifth and eighth spot respectively. Skipper Shubman Gill, who was outstanding in the opening two Test matches at Leeds and Edgbaston
