New Delhi: Elon Musk’s Tesla is all set to launch its first store in India, Reuters reported. The US-based company, which manufactures electric cars, is set to open its first “experience centre” on July 15 in Mumbai, the report mentioned.
Tesla signed a lease for the 4,000 sq ft retail space in Mumbai in March. Musk-headed company has an expansion strategy for India. In June 2025, Tesla leased a commercial space in Mumbai’s Kurla West. The firm aims to use it for a vehicle service facility purpose.
With Tesla’s “experience centre” coming up in Mumbai, Tesla’s total commercial properties in India now stands at four. It has an engineering hub in Pune, an office in Bengaluru, and an office near Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
A Bloomberg report mentioned that Tesla has already imported five Model Y vehicles in Mumbai from its factory in Shanghai, China.

It may be noted that the shares of Tesla plunged 8 per cent July 7 as the feud between CEO Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump reignited.
The Tesla shares declined after Musk announced to form a third political party in protest over the Republican spending bill that passed late last week. Musk has been aggressively speaking against the the bill, contending that the Act kill jobs and bog down burgeoning industries.
Attacking Musk, Trump took to X, saying that said that owner of SpaceX, had gone “off the rails” in recent weeks.
