Tamil star Suriya regained his box-office form with the blockbuster “Karuppu”, which was dubbed into Telugu as “Veera Bhadrudu”. The film was released in theaters on May 15 and made its OTT debut last weekend.
While the Tamil version emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in recent Tamil cinema and gave Suriya a much-needed commercial success after years of struggles, the film has been facing criticism from Telugu viewers following its OTT release.
Many Telugu moviegoers have taken to social media to express their disappointment, questioning how the film became such a massive hit. A common complaint is that Suriya has limited screen presence, with director-actor RJ Balaji dominating much of the runtime, while Trisha also gets significant focus.
Viewers have also criticized the film’s predictable storyline and conventional narration.
As a result, several Telugu OTT audiences have been trolling the film online, saying it failed to live up to the enormous hype surrounding its theatrical success in Tamil Nadu.
