Telangana ACB raids SRO office in Warangal over corruption, unaccounted cash

Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) inspected a sub-registrar office in Warangal district on Thursday, April 2, Tv9 Telugu reported.

Key findings from the raid include 20 unauthorised agents, document writers working at the office and a seizure of Rs 47,450 in cash. About 70 unregistered documents were seized and WhatsApp chats indicate transactions of Rs 42.03 lakh took place between officials and document writers via Phone Pe app.

 

Some 204 registered documents were undelivered and still in the custody of the SROs. The individuals involved in the case are identified as J Rama Narasimha Rao and Davuluri Aravind.

Raids on residences of officials:

Raids on their residences uncovered Rs 24.61 lakh in cash, 819.5 grams gold, 2.6 kg silver ornaments, Rs 3 lakh in fixed deposits. The accumulated assets are reportedly disproportionate to their incomes.

ACB officials stated that a detailed report is being prepared and will be submitted to the government.

The agency has urged citizens to report corruption on toll-free number 1064 and WhatsApp 9440446106. The identity of the complainants will be kept confidential, officials said.
