Key promises in the grand alliance’s manifesto for Bihar elections 2025: 1 government job to every family, ₹2,500 monthly assistance to women, and ₹1,500 pension to the elderly. Besides, there is also a resolution to end outsourcing.
Grand alliance (INDIA alliance) has released its manifesto for Bihar Assembly elections 2025. This manifesto has been named “Tejashwi’s Pran Patra”, in which many big promises have been made keeping the youth, women and elders at the center. RJD leader and alliance chief ministerial face Tejashwi Yadav said, “This is not a promise, but a resolution. When a Bihari decides to do something, he does not stop without achieving it. This is the pledge of our parties and hearts, it is our mission to make Bihar number one.”
Government job to one member from every family
According to the manifesto, as soon as the Grand Alliance government is formed, the process of giving a government job to at least one member of every family will be started by bringing an Act within 20 days. The roadmap for employment generation will be implemented within 20 months.
A target has been set to create more than 1.25 lakh employment opportunities during the tenure of the government. Also, “Good Governance Domicile Policy” will be implemented to give priority to the youth of Bihar. Graduate youth will be given ₹2,000 and post-graduate youth will be given ₹3,000 monthly unemployment allowance.
Relief to contract workers, outsourcing ends
It has been said in the manifesto that the process of regularizing the contract workers will be implemented, so that they can get stability. It has been said that the practice of “giving jobs on contract” should be ended by ending the outsourcing system. Also, skill-based employment will be increased in sectors like IT park, agriculture industry, food processing, renewable energy, tourism and logistics.
‘Mai-Bahin Maan Yojana’ for women
The Grand Alliance has made the biggest announcement for women. Under the “Mai-Bahin Maan Yojana”, every woman will be given financial assistance of ₹ 2,500 per month. The scheme will come into effect from December 1, and every woman will receive a total amount of ₹30,000 over five years. Besides, “BETI” and “MAI” schemes will also be introduced, in which education, training and employment of daughters will be guaranteed, while provision of housing, food and income will be made for mothers.
Emphasis on women’s rights and safety
- Many steps have also been announced in the manifesto regarding the safety and respect of women. Jeevika Didis to be given government employee status and ₹30,000 salary + ₹2,000 allowance.
- Ownership of residential land to landless women.
- Reservation for women in private schools and colleges, of which half will be reserved for SC/ST women.
- Free bus travel for women, 2,000 new electric buses will be run for this.
- Special women’s police station in every sub-division, so that cases of women harassment and domestic violence can be heard quickly.
- Women’s helplines will be strengthened and Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) will be mandatory in all government offices.
Relief for the elderly and disabled
₹1,500 monthly pension for the elderly and widows, with provision for increase of ₹200 every year. Disabled people will be given pension of ₹ 3,000 per month. Also, special schools will be opened in every district so that blind, hearing-impaired and disabled students do not face any difficulty in education.
