Bihar Election 2025: Tejashwi Yadav has made big promises for women and contract workers. Announcement of giving government status and salary of Rs 30,000 to Jeevika Didis, NDA leaders said – this is just election gossip.
The campaign for Bihar Assembly elections 2025 has taken a new turn. On Wednesday, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav held a press conference in Patna and made such big promises which have created a stir among the women and contract workers of the state. Tejashwi claimed that if the Grand Alliance government is formed, Jeevika Didis will be given government status and a monthly salary of Rs 30,000.
Tejashwi said, “Once our government is formed, the loan interest of Jeevika Didis will be waived off and they will get interest-free loans. Insurance up to Rs 5 lakh will be given to all the cadres and honorarium to the group president-treasurer. Along with this, a scheme of giving Rs 2,500 per month, Rs 30,000 annually and Rs 1.5 lakh in 5 years will be implemented under ‘Mai Behan Maan Yojana’.”
Announcement of new scheme for women and daughters
Tejashwi Yadav said that “Beti Yojana” and “Maa Yojana” will be implemented as soon as the Grand Alliance government is formed. Under this, education, food and housing of daughters will be guaranteed from birth. He also said that contract workers will be given permanent status. Tejashwi alleged that “contractual workers have been exploited for years. They are fired without reason and their salaries are deducted. Our government will end this injustice.”
Chirag Paswan’s counterattack ‘In which world is Tejashwi living?’
Union minister Chirag Paswan launched a scathing attack on Tejashwi, saying his alliance was “disintegrated and directionless”. He taunted –
“It is beyond my understanding what world these people are living in. While the nomination process is going on, they are trying to spread confusion with election promises.”
Chirag said that after November 14, only NDA government is going to be formed in Bihar. He raised the question, “Was it not the responsibility of Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi to sit together and solve the problems of the alliance? The people of Bihar are seeing the lack of coordination between Congress and RJD.”
Samrat Chaudhary said ‘RJD is a gossip party’
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary targeted Tejashwi and said that RJD only makes promises but does not fulfill them. He said, “The Lalu family remained in power for 15 years, but neither did they get employment nor development. Now again the same empty promises are being heard. The public is now aware and this time it is not going to be misled by them.”
Nityanand Rai’s comment ‘Empowerment of Jeevika Didis is the gift of Nitish government’
Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said that Tejashwi Yadav’s promises have no substance. He said, “The credit for the prosperity of Jeevika Didis goes to Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and not to those who remember women only during elections.”
Nitin Nabin’s sarcasm ‘Tejashwi Yadav was sleeping for a week’
BJP leader and Bankipur candidate Nitin Nabeen said that the real credit for women’s empowerment goes to the Nitish government. He said, “This group of Jeevika sisters was not formed overnight. The government has worked hard for years to establish it. Tejashwi Yadav has now woken up and made a series of promises. Under his rule, women were afraid to leave their homes, today they have become self-reliant.”
Political turmoil intensifies, election winds heat up
These announcements of Tejashwi Yadav have created new heat in the politics of Bihar. NDA is calling it an “electoral gimmick”, while RJD is calling it a “blueprint for social transformation”. Now it remains to be seen whether these big promises of Tejashwi will be successful in gathering the vote bank of women and contract workers or will they remain just election statements amidst the attacks of NDA.
