Teja Sajja’s Mirai is showing strong early traction in Japan, with the fantasy-action film securing the seventh spot among the top Indian films in terms of Day 1 advance bookings in the Japanese market. The ranking puts the Karthik Gattamneni directorial ahead of several established blockbusters, including Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Tiger Zinda Hai. The Japan advance-booking ranking is led by some of Indian cinema’s biggest global successes. RRR occupies the top position, followed by Muthu, Pushpa 2: The Rule, Devara: Part 1 and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, with Mirai entering at No. 7.

As per trade tracker website Sacnilk,  delivered a strong commercial performance, grossing Rs 144.21 crore worldwide. The film has earned Rs 111.41 crore from India, including a net collection of Rs 94.86 crore, while overseas markets have contributed Rs 32.80 crore, accounting for 22.74 per cent of its global total. With these numbers, the Teja Sajja-starrer has emerged as a superhit, further strengthening the momentum he gained following HanuMan.

Mirai Japanese Reception

The film’s visual scale and mythology-driven premise could be particularly relevant to its Japanese reception. Rather than relying entirely on dialogue-heavy storytelling or culturally specific references, the  film builds its appeal around action, fantasy, mythology and large-scale visuals. The film had already established a strong commercial run in India. Trade reports put its India gross at nearly Rs 60 crore within its first four days, while its worldwide gross eventually moved well beyond the Rs 100-crore mark.
