The Indian men’s cricket team will fly to Sri Lanka for a two-match Test series that will start in Galle on August 15. In order to be ready for the Tests, India will play a three-day warm-up match against a Sri Lankan XI in Colombo prior to the series opener.
This is the Indian team’s first Test tour of Sri Lanka in almost nine years, and they will be led by Shubman Gill. However, Jasprit Bumrah’s services would not be available to the visitors as he is still recovering from the knee injury he sustained during the ODI series against England. The world’s top Test bowler was ruled out of the pivotal series on Monday, August 3.
Although Sri Lanka is ranked lower than India in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-2027 points table, India cannot afford to ignore them at home. The hosts have several excellent bowlers and batters who have frequently helped them win major games.
In order to help the team sweep the series and maintain their aspirations of making it to the World Test Championship (WTC) 2027 final, the Indian players would be eager to perform well in the forthcoming series.
