Asia cup 2025 final: Team India has raised two big trophy in the last 13-14 months. In June 2024, the Indian team led by captain Rohit Sharma raised the T20 World Cup trophy. Then in March 2025, under the captaincy of Rohit, the Champions Trophy was waved in the air. Now the eyes are on Team India, captained by Suryakumar Yadav, which has a chance to capture the Trophy of Asia Cup 2025. But the question is whether captain Surya or Team India will raise this trophy?
The final of the Asia Cup will be played between India and Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday 28 September. This is the third competition between the two teams in this entire tournament, but the first time will be the first time in the history of the tournament, when India-Pakistan will be face to face in the final. In such a situation, this final is very special in itself and to capture the trophy, life will be put on both sides. But despite this, there is a possibility that Team India Trophy should not be raised in the event of winning the final.

Actually, if Team India wins the Asia Cup again, it will pick up this trophy, but when it will be the turn to hand over it to the captain for the first time in the entire ground, this will probably not happen. The reason for this is Mohsin Naqvi, president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), who is also the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as well as the Interior Minister in the Government of Pakistan. Due to the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, Team India has already not kept any contact with Pakistani players, coaching staff and officials.
There was a tremendous controversy over not joining hands in the first match, after which it was reported that if Mohsin Naqvi Trophy in the event of winning the title in the final, then Team India will buy it. Naqvi is the head of ACC and according to the rule, the ACC president submits the title to the winning captain. But Naqvi’s being from Pakistan is coming in the way of Team India’s current stand.
Naqvi committed anti -India activities
Naqvi’s PCB or association with the Pakistani government is not the issue, but the Indian team can boycott them even after seeing the kind of behavior he had during the Asia Cup dispute. Despite being the President of ACC, Naqvi posted India on his social media account amidst the controversy during the India-Pakistan match, pointing to the Indo-Pak war.
Not only this, Naqvi had approached the ICC to remove the match referee Andy Picroft and ban Surya on the statement made by Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav about the dead of Pahalgam. In such a situation, there will be a lot of curiosity about who gives the trophy in the presentation ceremony after the final. Is there a middle way out or will there be a dispute, it will be known only after the final.
