The Indian cricket team is currently preparing for the T20 World Cup through the T20 series against New Zealand. The Indian team has won the T20 series but some of its weaknesses have come to light in the four matches of this series which can cause problems for it in the T20 World Cup. Due to these weaknesses, he may have to miss the T20 World Cup. It is possible that he failed to save his title also. Let us tell you those three weaknesses which can harm Team India.
first weakness
The first and biggest weakness of Team India is Sanju Samson. This right-handed batsman is continuously failing in T20 cricket. Sanju has not played in all four matches of the T20 series against New Zealand. The big thing is that in the last 15 T20 innings, Sanju has scored only 262 runs at an average of 17.4 and his strike rate is also less than 130. Samson gets out in the powerplay itself and if he survives, his technique looks weak even against the spinners. This is the reason why he has been able to score only one fifty plus score in the last 15 T20 innings.
second weakness
Jasprit Bumrah has become the second biggest weakness of the Indian team. The bowler who used to be India’s strongest side, now does not seem to be in good form. Bumrah has not been able to perform well in T20 cricket since the final of T20 World Cup 2024. Meaning his performance is continuously going down. Bumrah has played 6 T20 matches in India since the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup in which he took 8 wickets and his economy rate was 7.4 runs per over. Bumrah has proved to be very expensive in the death overs, which is a matter of concern for Team India.
third weakness
Arshdeep Singh is becoming India’s third biggest weakness. That is because this bowler is continuously failing to perform well. Talking about the last 7 T20 matches, Arshdeep Singh has conceded more than 10 runs per over thrice. In Raipur T20 against New Zealand, Arshdeep gave away 53 runs in 4 overs. In the Ahmedabad T20 against South Africa, he gave away 47 runs in 4 overs. At the same time, against South Africa in New Chandigarh, he had given 54 runs in 4 overs. It is clear that Arshdeep has failed to perform consistently, which is not a good sign for Team India before the T20 World Cup.
