The Board of Control for Cricket in India has issued a press release informing that the Indian squad for next year’s T20 World Cup will be announced on 20th December i.e. today. The players will be selected at the BCCI Headquarters in Mumbai. Besides, the Indian team will also be selected for the T20 series against New Zealand.

Today Team India’s squad for the T20i World Cup 2026 and the 5-match T20i series against New Zealand will be announced. Reports had already surfaced regarding this, only the official update was yet to come, but BCCI has approved it. The Indian squad will be selected at 1:30 pm. After the announcement of Team India’s 15-member squad, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar will hold a press conference.
The series will start with ODI
Team India has a great opportunity to prepare before the World Cup. A 5-match T20I series will be played against New Zealand. Before the T20, there will also be a 3-match ODI series between both the teams. There will be a clash between the two teams in the first ODI series. The first match will be played on 11th (Vadodara), the second on 14th (Rajkot) and the third on 18th January (Indore). The Indian team will go to fight with the Kiwis with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

5 match T20I series between ODI
After the end of the ODI series, a 5-match T20I match will start between Team India and New Zealand. The first match will be held on 21 January (Nagpur), the second match will be held on 23 January (Raipur), the third match will be held on 25 January (Guwahati), the fourth match will be held on 28 January (Vishakhapatnam), and the fifth match will be held on 31 January (Thiruvananthapuram).
T20 World Cup starts in February
The T20 World Cup will start after the end of the series against New Zealand. From February 7 to March 8, a tough competition will be seen between a total of 20 teams.
