Chandragupta was placed on the throne of Magadha
It is said that King Dhanananda of Magadha killed Chanakya’s father in the crime of treason. Then Chanakya changed his name to Vishnugupta, so that he could avoid the soldiers of King Dhanananda. Later, Acharya Chanakya evicted King Dhanananda from power and placed Chandragupta on the throne of Magadha in his place and avenged his father’s murder.
There are many stories about death
Acharya Chanakya’s name, date of birth, birthplace and his death have been disputed. These have been the subject of controversy, but the controversy is the highest about how he died. Many stories are told about his death. However, which story is correct. Nobody knows about this. The first story of Acharya Chanakya’s death is that one day he rode on a chariot and went away from Magadha in a forest and never returned again.
There is another story about Acharya’s death, in which the queen of Magadha, Helena, is said to be poisoned and killed him. In another story, Raja Bindusar’s minister Subandhu is said to burn Acharya alive. However, which of all these stories is true, it has not been clear till date.
