Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai honored 64 outstanding teachers at Chhattisgarh Raj Bhavan on Teachers’ Day 2025. The program laid special emphasis on education policy 2020 and innovation.
Raipur. Governor Shri Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai presented state level awards at the grand ceremony held at Teachers’ Day (5 September 2025) at Mandapam of Chhattisgarh Raj Bhavan.
At the ceremony, the Governor and the Chief Minister greeted all the respected teachers of the year 2024. On this occasion, 64 teachers of the state were awarded the Governor Award. Also, School Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav also announced the names of 64 teachers selected for the year 2025.
Governor Ramen Deka’s message: Education medium of all -round development
Chief Guest Governor Shri Ramen Deka first saluted the first Vice President of India and great educationist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan at the ceremony. He said- ‘Education is the most effective means of all-round development of human beings. A teacher is ideal for his students and plays a big role in making them responsible citizens. Teachers are inspiration for students’ lives and should teach them to face difficulties.
The governor said that children should be taught so that they are attracted to school. Not only the building, but the education provided inside the school has real importance. Describing the Gurukul tradition of ancient India as superior, he said that even today he should take inspiration from him.
National Education Policy 2020: Direction of change
Shri Deka said that the National Education Policy 2020 is a game changer for the education sector. It has been implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The purpose of this policy is to make education practical, skill -based and all -round. Special emphasis has been laid on education in mother tongue. From studying in mother tongue, the child is able to learn with easy and interest. Innovative education and use of new teaching materials are making children easy and interesting. Teaching according to the changing environment is needed today and changes in courses are also necessary.
Address of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai: Teacher is the true nation maker
Presiding over the function, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said- ‘Teachers are nation builders. Just as the lamp burns himself and gives light to others, so teachers spread the light of knowledge despite difficulties. Chhattisgarh is completing 25 years of its establishment and has achieved great achievements in the education sector. The Chief Minister informed that more than 20 universities, more than 15 medical colleges, IIT, IIMS and Law University are established in the state today.
He said that the government’s goal is to easily provide education to every child. From this point of view, primary school every 1 km, 3-4 km of secondary school, high school on 6-7 km, Higher secondary school on 8-10 km and colleges are being opened in every development block.
School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav’s statement
Special guest and School Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav said that the level of education will be better in the coming time due to the implementation of the National Education Policy. He announced the names of selected teachers for the next year (2025) for the state teacher honor.

- Four outstanding teachers were awarded the Special Smriti Award at the state level function:
- Shri Ajay Kumar Chaturvedi of Surajpur district: Dr. Padumlal Punnalal Bakshi Smriti Award
- Shri Ramesh Kumar Chandravanshi of Kabirdham district: Shri Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh Smriti Award
- Smt. Sunita Yadav of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district: Dr. Mukutadhar Pandey Smriti Award
- Mr. Bhojram Patel of Raigad district: Dr. Baldev Prasad Mishra Smriti Award
Apart from this, 64 outstanding teachers of Pradhan Pathak, Lecturer, Assistant Teacher and other classes were also honored.
