TCS and IIT Airawat Research Foundation of IIT Kanpur will jointly create cities that are flexible, equality between people and ecological. TCS will use AI and remote sensing technology to influence the real world.

Kanpur/Mumbai: The Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has formed a strategic partnership with the Airawat Research Foundation of IIT Kanpur to resolve one of the biggest challenges in India. The Airavat Research Foundation was established by IIT Kanpur in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Under the partnership, TCS and Foundation will avail AI and Advance Technology to deal with the challenge of large -scale urban planning in India.

According to the United Nations, by 2050, 68% of the world’s population will start living in urban centers. This will bring a large -scale demographic change from rural settlements to urban areas. By 2050, 416 million urban residents will be added to India. These will give further impetus to economic development. Issues related to urban mobility, energy consumption, pollution management and governance can create serious challenges. Especially when urban expansion is without adequate plan. TCS and IIT-Kanpur will work together to deal with these challenges. IIT Kanpur Director Professor Manindra Aggarwal said,

AI, using data available and system-based thinking, our goal is to convert our cities into flexible, justified and climate-conscious ecosystems. The IIT is carrying forward this approach by converting India’s urban challenges into global opportunities for innovation, in association with Tata Consultancy Services at Kanpur. We are leading India in shaping cities that make balance between development and stability.
