Tata Motors unveils new Tata Sierra: Iconic SUV returns in a modern avatar

New Delhi: At the Sierra Brand Day in Mumbai, Tata Motors has unveiled officially the production-ready version of the legendary Tata Sierra. The showcase was a comeback of one of the most renowned SUVs in India with a touch of nostalgia and modern design and technology. The occasion marked the rebirth of the Sierra as it was in the year 1991 and its entirely new look as a representation of freedom, uniqueness and discovery. The SUV will be introduced into the market on November 25, 2025.

It was also marked by the special partnerships with the best Indian brands in music, art, fashion and lifestyle. All the partnerships depicted the creative spirit and self-expression of the Sierra that gave the celebration a cultural dimension. According to the Tata Motors design team, the new model was an extension of the first one in the fact that it maintained its emotional appeal but incorporated design and innovation orientated towards the future.

Its unique DNA of design is preserved in the new Sierra in a redesigned three-quarter glasshouse, but this time made with a panoramic roof, flush glazing and a smooth black finisher on the roof. The SUV is planted and aerodynamic with a long wheelbase, wider proportions, and clean surfaces that are to age gracefully. The front fascia consists of a full-width LightsabreLED DRL, and the rear is fronted by a similar slim rear light bar to provide visual continuity. Flush door handles, as well as R19 alloy wheels, hidden wipers, and a clamshell tailgate help its assertive and modern image on the road.

The Sierra has an indoor concept of a life space based on a shared and cosy living room. The TheatrePro multi-screen Horizon View layout gives two-user personalised digital experiences to both a passenger and a driver. The JBL Black 12-speaker system with Dolby Atmos further adds to the acoustic feel, and the PanoraMax sunroof and wide glasshouse mimic the freedom of the original Sierra. The use of nature-based materials, minimal metallic touches, and the use of ambient lighting make the cabin comfortable and cosy, as well as connected to nature.
