Tata Motors share price target: Buy, Sell or Hold? What expert said

New Delhi: The shares of Tata Motors are expected to rise, Anshul Jain, Director General of Laxmishree Securities, said. Initiating a Buy rating on Tata Motors stock, the market expert stated that previously, his brokerage house had set a small target of Rs 735, which has been achieved.

He advised the shareholders to book profits as it was recommended to buy the shares of the automobile major at around Rs 665 apiece. Jain further said that after the stock crosses Rs 735, Laxmishree Securities will initiate a long position, with a target of Rs 810. He advised the investors to enter the counter at Rs 736 apiece.

The Tata Motors shares had touched a high of Rs 984 on October 1, 2024, but failed to maintain its momentum. On September 30, 2025, it closed at Rs 680, a decline of over 30 per cent. However, the counter has recorded a decent rally in the past five days and was trading at Rs 716.35 on October 3, 2025.

Tata Motors demerger

Effective October 1, Tata Motors split the automotive major’s commercial vehicle (CV) and passenger vehicle (PV) businesses into two independent listed companies. The shareholders of Tata Motors as of the record date, October 14, will receive one equity share of the new CV company for every share held in Tata Motors.

Tata Motors Q1FY26 Results

In its April-June quarter for 2025-26, Tata Motors Limited mentioned that it was impacted by volume decline in all businesses and a drop in profitability primarily at JLR. Tata Motors posted a 62.2 per cent decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 4,003 crore in the first quarter, impacted by volume decline across segments, drop in JLR profits and high base effect due to gain from sale of discontinued operations.

In a regulatory filing, Tata Motors Ltd had registered a consolidated net profit of Rs 10,587 crore in the April-June quarter of the previous fiscal. During the quarter, its total revenue from operations stood at Rs 1,04,407 crore against Rs 1,07,102 crore in the year-ago period, it added.
