New Delhi: Tata Motors has added a new model to its electric commercial vehicle range with the launch of the Intra EV Pickup. The vehicle is priced starting at Rs 11.95 lakh (ex-showroom) and is built on the existing Intra platform, but this time with a fully electric setup.
The company is targeting small cargo operators and businesses that want to cut running costs and improve efficiency. The focus is on daily usability, especially for city deliveries as well as short intercity trips, where fuel savings and reduced downtime matter the most.
Payload, motor and battery details
Tata Intra EV
The Intra EV Pickup is built mainly for carrying goods, and that shows in its numbers. It offers a payload capacity of 1,750 kg and a cargo bed length of up to 10 ft 2 in. It can be used in various purposes like e-commerce deliveries, FMCG transport, dairy supply, LPG movement, and even waste management.
It gets a 72 kW electric motor that produces 230 Nm of torque. Tata says the pickup can handle slopes with a 23 percent gradeability, which should help when the vehicle is fully loaded. The battery pack is 28.2 kWh with an IP67 rating, and the claimed range is 211 km on a single charge.
For charging, the pickup supports CCS2 fast charging. It can go from 10 to 80 percent in around 55 minutes.
Cabin, features and ownership support
Inside, the cabin is designed for ease of use. It gets a walk-through layout, simple controls, and Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS), which should reduce driver fatigue during long hours. Since it is electric, the cabin is also quieter compared to diesel pickups.
On the safety side, it comes with an electronic braking system and three levels of regenerative braking, which also helps recover some energy while slowing down. The vehicle is also connected through Tata’s Fleet Edge system, which allows tracking, health updates, and maintenance alerts.
Tata is offering support through a wide charging network, over 200 EV service centres, financing options, and a battery warranty of 6 years or 2 lakh km.
