Tata Motors has officially launched the Aeris compact sedan in India as the successor to the outgoing Tigor model. The newly introduced vehicle brings a completely refreshed exterior styling language inspired heavily by the Tiago hatchback, alongside a heavily revised cabin layout, modern safety features, and multiple powertrain choices. Bookings are open across authorized dealerships, with customer deliveries scheduled to commence nationwide on October 11, 2026.
The exterior design features sharper lines, slimmer LED headlamps with eyebrow-shaped daytime running lights, a gloss-black grille, and pixel-shaped LED fog lamps. Inside the cabin, upgrades include a lighter color theme, a free-standing semi-digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a two-spoke steering wheel. Convenience features such as ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, and a built-in dashcam recorder expand its appeal, while safety is bolstered by six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The Tata Aeris starts at an introductory ex-showroom price of INR 5.29 lakh for the base Smart petrol manual variant, going up to INR 9.74 lakh for the top-end CNG automatic trim. In comparison, the outgoing Tata Tigor traditionally started around INR 5.49 lakh and maxed out near INR 8.74 lakh. While the base variant of the Aeris is competitively priced lower than the older model to attract entry-level sedan buyers, its fully loaded variants command a minor premium due to the addition of advanced tech and safety equipment.
